As a candidate for the Higley Unified School District, I am for putting students first and prioritizing their safety. Safeguarding students’ innocence and vulnerability through age-appropriate curriculum is essential, especially in light of recent concerns in the District. By being vigilant, proactive, and transparent, I aim to foster a secure learning environment where parents feel confident that their children are protected.

 

2. Fiscal Responsibility

Fiscal responsibility is essential for the sustainable and efficient operation of our schools. I am committed to overseeing the budget with a critical eye, ensuring that every dollar is spent wisely and effectively. My focus will be on cutting unnecessary expenditures, prioritizing funding for classroom resources, support staff and investing in programs that directly benefit our students' education. By implementing cost-saving measures and seeking innovative solutions, we can maximize our resources and provide a high-quality education without overburdening taxpayers.

 

3. Academic Excellence

As a candidate for the Higley Unified School District, I am committed to eliminating confusion in the classroom and returning to the basics of education. Academic excellence and rigor are fundamental to a thriving education system, and we must prioritize core academic subjects while upholding the highest standards of learning. With the introduction of Common Core, testing has shown a significant rise in youth mental health issues, something I have personally observed in my business and community. Now, more than ever, we must unite as adults to ensure we first "do no harm" to students by returning to proven methods that support their well-being, less of the modern unproven theories. The Students of Higley need us more then ever.  By promoting rigorous curriculum development, enhancing teacher training, and refining student assessment methods, we can guarantee that every student is challenged and well-prepared with the critical skills they need for college, careers, and life beyond. My goal is to create an environment where academic achievement is celebrated, and students are equipped in practical wisdom to thrive in the future.

4. Transparency

Transparency and accountability are vital for building trust and ensuring the success of our school system. As a candidate for the Higley Unified School District, I will champion policies that make school board operations more open and accessible. This includes regular, detailed reporting on budget allocations, performance metrics, and decision-making processes. With the upcoming Bond and Override on November 5th, it is more important than ever to ensure that taxpayer dollars are managed responsibly and that our schools are responsive to the needs of students, parents, and the community. My commitment to transparency will help build a school system that is accountable and trusted by all.
